Lonesome Ride, based out of Oak Hill, Ohio, is a group of seasoned veterans of bluegrass music, as well as new young talent which makes their transition from hardcore traditional to contemporary or bluesy material fresh and exciting. The group was formed in 1996 by bluegrass mainstay Rick Sharp, after spending 15 years with the Bluegrass Strangers, to play the different styles of bluegrass he loves.

Creating his own band allowed Rick to bring his son Jeremy to the group who plays mandolin and sings tenor. Jeremy has a natural ability of playing a tasteful style, filling where he needs to and never overpowering. Jeremy compliments Rick's lead work with his fine tenor voice that allows the two to showcase their great family harmony.

In the summer of 1999 Lonesome Ride welcomed Tammy Sharp, Jeremy's wife, to the group. Her bass work is clean and her timing is impeccable and serves as a rock solid foundation for their music. When the guys and crowd can persuade her she is also featured singing a song or two during the show.

August of 2000 gave Rick the opportunity to bring Mike Daniels of Paintsville, KY to the group. Mike came to the group after an 11 year stint with Hylo Brown as one of Hylo's Timberliners, as well as working with Emma Smith between 1992 and 1996 on a part-time basis, and had also filled in with many other well known groups. Mike brings many years of experience as well as a unique style and a diverse musical background to the group.

Lonesome Ride delivers an energy packed fun-filled family show with traditional classics as well as original material that makes their stage shows new, exciting and entertaining for all!
