One Riot One Ranger (or
1R1R, as they're often referred to on the Internet) got started
in 1990, when former indie rocker Mark Wyatt got together with
folklorist Jack Shortlidge to concoct a band that would serve
as a bridge between Wyatt's former music scene and the world
of acoustic music. Current Ranger Pete Remenyi was there at the
start, with Chas Williams not far behind, but it took a great
deal of personnel changes and a goodly number of years for the
concept to become a reality.

Band" in the 1999 Columbus Alive Reader's Poll
* Produces a monthly electronic newsletter that goes worldwide
to 500+ subscribers
* Maintains a website that has been singled out for merit by
the International Blugrass Music Association
