Ron
Workman - Finally Done It
No Label, No Number
Apparently a long time in the day dream stage, Ron Workman of
Jordon Run has finally done it - he compiled 13 of his own original
songs and with the help of some good friends has put together
a very enjoyable solo album effort. There's nothing fancy but
good solid grass, and the harmonies are tight. The songs are
heart felt and strong, they're definitely something that you
could hear any top notch acts of the genre working their own
magic to. The blues influence is apparent in "Keep On Cryin"
and the Native American workings within "Soaring Eagle"
make for an intriguing combination. "Hey Moon" is delightful;
soon to be a classic, something that will stick with you long
after you put the CD away. You'll find a smile if you're a dog
lover with "Always on the Wrong Side of the Door".
The storyteller in Ron shines through in "Dead Flowers",
"John's Last Request" and "Bluegrass Family Reunion".
The twin fiddling on "Let's Take The True Not the Blue"
of Danny Mullen and Buck McCumbers is something to listen to
and enjoy. All in all, this solo effort is one to be very proud
of and we're glad that Ron Workman finally done it!
